The Mechanical Engineering Department at Northwestern University invites applications for multiple tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor levels.

Candidates are expected to build a world-class research program, to contribute to the interdisciplinary collaborative research culture at Northwestern, and to demonstrate a commitment to teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs in the McCormick School of Engineering.

Outstanding applicants will be considered in all research areas related to mechanical engineering. Areas of particular interest include materials design, mechanics of materials, robotics, and advanced manufacturing—including additive manufacturing, nano/micro-manufacturing, and bio-manufacturing—with connections to fields such as healthcare, machine learning, data analytics, cyber-physical systems, and water and energy.
