Guest Speaker Xiaosheng Tan Talks on Finding Cyber Threats Using Big Data Analytics and AI

On Saturday, February 17th, the second half of Dr. Yan Chen’s Information Security and Assurance lecture was dedicated to a talk from guest speaker Xiaosheng Tan, Chief Security Officer of Qihoo 360, a Chinese internet security company. Tan presented on how his company is performing cyber threat detection using big data analytics and AI and why it was one of six companies thanked by the FBI for its role in the incident response of the DYN attack that happened in October 2016. Xiaosheng Tan is Technical President and Chief Security Officer of Qihoo 360, the Deputy Secretary General of the China Computer Federation, a board member of the Practitioner Board of the Association of Computing Machinery, and is the High-end Leader of Zhongguancun High Tech Campus.
