This zero-credit, weekly, one-hour speaker series willpresent an overview of the broad fi eld of Civil and EnvironmentalEngineering tailored to freshmen and other students having an interestin these topics. Faculty from various areas of Civil & EnvironmentalEngineering (materials, structures, energy, environmental, transportation,etc.) will give short, 30-minute presentations focused on the grandchallenges surrounding the reinvention of the City and on how studyingcivil or environmental engineering equips a student to develop innovativeand inventive solutions to the most pressing problems facing our society.
