Plamen Petrov

"Artificial Intelligence + Data + Healthcare + Innovation" for Economically Sustainable Social Good

Plamen Petrov is Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the Artificial Intelligence powered, Digital Health startup "Hydrogen Health". Hydrogen Health was founded with investments by Blackstone, Anthem and K Health to transform how healthcare is practiced & delivered through the power of Machine Learning, Data Science and Virtual Care medicine. Previously, Petrov served as Chief Data Officer (CDO) and VP for Artificial Intelligence at Anthem, the largest Blue Cross Blue Shield health benefits company. He also served as Director of Cognitive Technology at KPMG.

Petrov was formerly an Associate Partner for IBM Cognitive Business Solutions, where he brought advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities to the business world. Before that, he was CTO for Deloitte's Cognitive Analytics Group which involved defining and executing on the technology strategy through a combination of product development, strategic partnerships, and technology acquisitions. Prior to joining Deloitte, Petrov was the chief enterprise architect at Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA) in Chicago for more than 11 years. He established and led all the architecture practices of the company as well as the Technology Innovation and Knowledge Management area.

Plamen Petrov is an adjunct professor at Northwestern University’s Farley Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He earned his Master of Engineering Management at Northwestern University and his Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Illinois.
