"Building Successful Hardware Start-ups"

Abstract With over 80 investments in robotics, medical devices, Internet of Things (IoT), medical devices, advanced manufacturing, and lifestyle products, HAX (http://www.hax.co) has a huge amount of experience in accelerating early stage hardware companies. We are interested in talking to students and alumni about how we help founders go from prototype to launch in record time.

Bio: Duncan Turner is General Partner and Managing Director at HAX, the world's first and most prolific accelerator for hardware. He is responsible for strategic direction of the program, operations and investments. Prior to joining HAX, he led design and consumer engagement strategy projects for Fortune 500 companies as Design Lead of Product Design & Engineering at global design and innovation firm IDEO. Duncan has a strong entrepreneurial background and deep experience of growing businesses in China, having taken numerous hardware products to market from first concepts through research, funding, design, development, manufacturing and assembly to final sales. He obtained his Master's from Royal College of Art & Imperial College. His design work has won multiple awards and is included in the permanent collection at The Museum of Modern Art.
