Description

Selected topics in digital signal processing such as digital speech processing, multidimensional digital signal processing, spectrum estimation, space-filling curves, and error analysis.

COURSE GOALS: Basics of multirate DSP. Wavelets and multiresolution analysis and their interpretation and use.

PREREQUISITES BY COURSES: ELEC_ENG 359 or equivalent.

  • Applications of wavelets

COMPUTER USAGE: Matlab is used to generate and process wavelet transforms.

COURSE OBJECTIVES: When a student completes this course, s/he should be able to:

•  Analyze multirate DSP systems.

•  Determine coefficients for perfect reproduction filter banks and wavelets.

•  Choose parameters to take a wavelet transform, and interpret and process the result.
