Northwestern University Atomic and Nanoscale Characterization Experimental Center (NUANCE)

NUANCE offers a comprehensive set of instrumentation, techniques, and expertise for diverse characterization of materials and structures – down to the atomic and molecular scales. Consisting of three complementary facilities (EPIC, NIFTI, and Keck-II), NUANCE Center provides instrumental analysis for all characterization needs, ranging from electron microscopy to nano-indentation to surface chemical analysis.

Northwestern University Micro/Nano Fabrication Facility (NUFAB)

NUFAB is an advanced micro/nano fabrication research facility that provides equipment for characterization, deposition, etching, ashing, and photolithography in a clean room environment. NUFAB supports research in MEMs/NEMs, nano-bio, nano/microelectronics, and other related areas.

Jerome B. Cohen X-Ray Diffraction Facility

The x-ray diffraction facility provides general-purpose x-ray equipment for diffraction and fluorescence studies. Examples of current measurements are:
