Sponsoring and collaborating in research enables companies to get more visibility into the complete path from basic research to the marketplace. Working with graduate students enables companies to identify promising new R&D talent.  

Northwestern has recently streamlined the process for companies to collaborate with faculty, sponsor their research, and commercialize the results. Alliance agreements enable companies to initiate new research projects quickly with minimal paperwork. They feature a collaborative governance structure to help ensure success.

Baxter-NU Alliance

Northwestern-Baxter Alliance

The Baxter Northwestern Alliance Collaboration Agreement supports faculty research programs in engineering, science and medicine. Working collaboratively, Baxter and NU researchers are investigating the development of improved manufacturing procedures, devices, novel bio-materials, and therapeutic compounds for their incorporation into clinical applications.
