Vivien Rivera Receives U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science Graduate Student Research Award

Vivien Anne Rivera, a Ph.D. student in environmental engineering at Northwestern University, has been selected to receive the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR).  The award is for the proposed SCGSR research project, “Data Fusion and Machine Learning for Analysis of Soil Saturation in Urban Landscapes”, to be conducted at Argonne National Laboratory.

The selection of Rivera for the SCGSR award is in recognition of outstanding academic accomplishments and the merit of the SCGSR research proposal, and reflects her potential to advance the Ph.D. studies and make important contributions to the mission of the DOE Office of Science.

Rivera's Primary Graduate Thesis Advisor is Prof. Aaron Packman, and she often works in conjunction with his research group.
