Tuition and BENEFITS

For the 2016-2017 academic year the Master of Science in Biotechnology full-time tuition is set at $15,355 per quarter, and the program requires five quarters of full-time enrollment. Additional expenses may include housing, health insurance, books, and transportation.

The tuition enables the MBP to provide exceptional education and development opportunities to MBP students, which include:

  • Guest speakers, coaches, and tutors on technical topics, including bioprocessing, molecular biology, and cell biology
  • Seminars and workshops led by experienced professionals in technology commercialization, regulatory science, team building, responsible conduct of research, and writing
  • Travel grants of up to $2,000 to attend conferences and professional development events
  • Extensive network of contacts and several committed partners in the biopharmaceutical industry that generate numerous internship opportunities
  • International internship opportunities in South Africa (as part of the SGHB certificate)
  • Site visits of US biotech companies
  • Extensive placement assistance by the MBP Assistant Director of External Relations and Career Management
  • Access to popular electives from other departments, including Kellogg School of Management
  • Sponsorship of the MBP Association of Biotechnology Students (ABS)
  • Hands-on experience with sophisticated industry equipment

SCHOLARSHIPS

All qualified domestic students are eligible for merit-based scholarships of up to $25,000 total, paid in five equal installments. Students may also offset tuition costs with a paid industrial internship.

Financial Aid

Students in the MBP program are eligible to apply for financial aid. Prospective students should familiarize themselves with the alternatives for financial aid and contact Student Financial Services with any questions.

Students utilizing financial aid to fund their graduate degree must comply with the Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Policy to maintain eligibility.
