Michael Kaesler

A Chicago native, Michael attended the University of Colorado where he graduated with B.A.s in Mathematics and Economics, along with a minor in Computer Science. An Econometrics course introduced him to the world of data analytics, and drove him to gear the remainder of his education to building the required skills. Unsatisfied with the scope of analytics topics covered at the undergraduate level, Michael began supplementing his formal education with online courses.

After graduating, Michael began working at Ecolab Inc. as a Data Science intern. There he developed a classifier based text matching algorithm to merge two asymmetrically labeled databases. This enabled him and the rest of the team to begin exploratory and predictive analysis on the resulting dataset.

At Northwestern, Michael is excited to be exposed to the different spaces analytical techniques can be applied, and to not only become more proficient at those techniques, but to learn to convey them in a clear and concise manner.
