After graduating from the University of Denver with a B.S. in Finance and minor in Accounting, Steven began work as an analyst for an international manufacturing firm. He was fortunate to work directly for the President of the company. His responsibilities included risk management, financial analysis, acquisition analysis, and business development.

Eager to further develop his analysis skills, Steven passed the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) examinations and earned the CFA designation. Steven became enthralled with the technical aspects of capital markets, and began work as a proprietary trader specializing in fixed-income futures. Fascinated with the prospect of applying mathematics to financial markets, he left trading to attend Columbia University’s Quantitative Studies for Finance Certificate program.

While studying in New York, Steven became inspired by the power of analytics and how quickly the new discipline took hold. His interests expanded with his excitement for Data Science. Steven is looking forward to learning statistical methods, machine learning, and text analytics, in order to gather and utilize data at the highest level.
